MILAN – Not everyone manages to fulfil the dream of playing for the team they support. But, following his arrival at Inter, it’s a dream that has come true for Raoul Bellanova. The new Nerazzurri wing-back introduced himself to his new fans with an exclusive interview with Inter TV:
Welcome to Inter, Raoul: what emotions are you feeling right now?
“It’s difficult to find the right words because a dream that I’ve had since I was young – playing for my favourite team – is coming true. I hope to repay the faith the Club has shown in me.”
You were born and grew up a few kilometres away from San Siro. What does it mean for you to have the chance to play there wearing the Nerazzurri shirt?
"It’s always been a dream of mine. It was also a dream playing there as an opponent of Inter, as was the case last year. It was exciting, absolutely thrilling. I can’t wait to take to the pitch in the Inter jersey.”
You’re very young but have played for various teams and, as a result, got to know very different football environments. How much have these experiences helped you in your journey up to joining Inter?
"They’ve really helped me, first and foremost the negative ones. They allowed me to learn a lot. Now, I’m at a bigger Club and everything will be more difficult, but I’m eager to start.”
Last year, you displayed your qualities during a positive season on a personal level. What kind of player are you? How would you describe yourself? Do you have a role model you take inspiration from?
“I’m certainly more of an attacking wing-back as opposed to a defensive one. I like to have the ball at my feet and run at my opponents, but I know that I can still improve a lot. However, there’s time; I’m young and really want to improve.”
Have you already spoken to Coach Simone Inzaghi? How keen are you to start working with him?
"I’m really keen, also because the Coach has improved various players in my position. I can’t wait to take to the pitch in this shirt alongside my new teammates and together with the Coach.”
We imagine you can’t wait to play at San Siro in front of the Nerazzurri supporters: do you have a message for them?
"First of all, I’d like to say hello to them. I’m sure they’ll give us a lot of support and energy, like they’ve always done. I can’t wait to enter the pitch.”
