Lautaro: "We want to end the season on a high"

The Argentine shared his thoughts after the Cagliari win

CAGLIARI – Determination, ruthlessness, and a desire to win: that’s exactly what Inter needed in order to beat Cagliari. Lautaro Martinez embodied this spirit and shared his thoughts with DAZN and Inter TV after the game:

“It was a tough game; Cagliari are fighting to stay up. We set out to win the game and that’s what we did, so we’re delighted.”

Lautaro has become the seventh player in Inter’s history under the age of 25 to score at least 20 league goals in a season: “I’m happy with this stat because I work hard every day to improve. It’s a nice record but the most important thing is winning as a team. I think my best goal this season was against Atalanta back at the start of the season at San Siro, but the most important thing is that goals lead to victories.”

With one game to go we’re still yet to know the fate of the Scudetto: “We’re aware that we’ve dropped some points in games we deserved to win. We’ll keep on believing; our aim is to win our last home game in front of our fans. We’ve played great in every competition this season, taking risks and playing our game. Now we want to end the season on a high.”
