“Inter are my life and soul because I had the privilege of being born as an Inter fan, playing at all levels in the club’s youth teams, working as a ball boy, cheering on the team from the Curva, and going on to represent the club 473 times.”
Walter Zenga’s life story has had Inter as its centrepiece from the day he was born. Having come through the club’s academy he played for the first team from 1982 until 1994, living out a childhood dream as the Nerazzurri’s number 1. He was voted as Goalkeeper of the Year for three years in a row – 1989, 1990, and 1991 – thanks to his wonderful technique, talent, charisma and boldness which won the hearts of generations of Inter fans.
Walter Zenga was also the first goalkeeper to be inducted into Inter’s Hall of Fame, back in 2018. Since then fellow sticksmen Francesco Toldo, Gianluca Pagliuca, and Julio Cesar.
On the occasion of his 62nd birthday the club and all their fans would like to wish Walter a very happy birthday.
