MILAN – After signing from Monaco in the summer of 2006, Maicon made 249 appearances in all competitions for Inter over seven seasons, scoring on 20 occasions.
A player with class, power and who put the team above all else, the Brazilian made a significant contribution to the Nerazzurri’s Treble-winning season through some incredible goals and topping the assist charts: in Serie A, he set up a teammate to score eleven times, meaning he remains the Nerazzurri player to have provided the most assists in a single Serie A campaign since the Italian top flight returned to being a 20-team league.
"Quanto è forte Maicon!" (“How strong is Maicon!”) is the chant that accompanied his Inter adventure, one which saw him win numerous trophies: four Scudetto titles, one Champions League, one Club World Cup, two Coppa Italia triumphs and three Supercoppa Italiana successes.
From FC Internazionale Milano and all of the Club’s fans, many happy returns to the Colossus on his 39th birthday.
